BIO
Dr Liz Gaunt is a volcanologist focusing on volcanic hazard and risk at MVO. After graduating from her PhD in Geophysics at University College London, UK, she worked as a volcanologist at the Instituto Geofisico, the volcanic and seismic monitoring organization in Ecuador. While her research is multidisciplinary, integrating petrology, physical and mechanical rock properties and high-temperature experimental volcanology, she has many years of experience in volcano monitoring, volcanic hazard assessment and creating hazard maps.
