- An approximately 1-hour flight to/from St. Maarten (airport code SXM) with Winair, currently available only on Fridays and Sundays.
Antigua’s airport offers direct connections to the UK, USA, Canada, and several Caribbean islands.
St. Maarten’s airport also provides direct connections to the UK, USA, Canada, the EU (France, the Netherlands), Latin America (Panama), and additional Caribbean destinations.
There may be possibilities to work with the Government and airlines to add additional flights. If this would be helpful to you, please indicate your interest on the online registration form or email us directly at shvinfo@mvo.ms with your passenger numbers and connection details.
All visitors to Montserrat should have a valid passport and a return ticket. The Montserrat immigration website indicates countries requiring visas to enter Montserrat. If required, you can apply for your visa online on the website.
Some accommodation options are listed on the Montserrat Tourism website, while others can be found on global booking platforms such as Booking.com and Airbnb. Please ensure your search is set to Montserrat, Eastern Caribbean, not Montserrat in Spain.
Accommodations are available across the island. The areas closest to the conference venue, the Montserrat Cultural Centre in Little Bay, include Davy Hill, Manjack, Little Bay, and Brades.
Please note that not all accommodations are listed online. If you have difficulty finding lodging within your budget, don’t hesitate to contact us at shvinfo@mvo.ms, we’ll be happy to assist you.
Information and contact details for car rental services are available on the Montserrat Tourism website. Please note that response times may vary. If you experience any difficulties contacting the providers, feel free to reach out to us at shvinfo@mvo.ms for assistance.
A free shuttle service will be provided to and from the conference venue.
The local currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD). However, the United States Dollar (USD) is widely accepted throughout the island. The exchange rate is approximately $1 USD = $2.68 XCD.
Please note that not all businesses accept credit cards, so you may need to exchange currency or withdraw Eastern Caribbean Dollars using your credit or debit card. This can be done in Antigua, or at the counter of the Bank of Montserrat—the island’s only bank, and in a limited number of shops. Currency exchanges at the Bank of Montserrat are available for Pound Sterling, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, and Barbados Dollars.
