MVO Launches “Did You Feel It?” Earthquake Response Questionnaire Following 9 May Event
The Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) is encouraging members of the public to complete its “Did You Feel It?” Earthquake Response Questionnaire following the volcano-tectonic earthquake that occurred on Saturday 9 May 2026 at 9:02 PM local time.
The questionnaire has been developed to help scientists better understand how the earthquake was experienced across Montserrat and surrounding areas. Public responses provide valuable scientific data that support earthquake monitoring, research, and hazard assessment activities.
Importantly, the MVO is encouraging everyone to participate — even individuals who did not feel the earthquake. Reports from persons who experienced no shaking are equally important in helping scientists determine the extent and intensity of the event across the island.
The questionnaire only takes a few minutes to complete, and all responses will remain confidential. Any personal information submitted will not be shared publicly or with third parties and will be used strictly for scientific and monitoring purposes.
Participants also have the option to provide their exact location at the time of the event using coordinates from Google Maps to assist with scientific analysis.
The questionnaire can be accessed here:

The MVO thanks the public for its continued support of its monitoring efforts.
