
Montserrat Volcano Observatory Welcomes Strong Visitor Numbers in Early 2026
The Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) continues to attract visitors eager to learn about the island’s volcanic landscape and monitoring efforts. In 2025, the Observatory welcomed a total of 2,970 visitors, showcasing strong local and regional interest in volcanic science and educational outreach.
Building on this momentum, the first quarter of 2026 has already seen 2,711 visitors explore the MVO. Guests can engage with the Observatory’s facilities through a self-guided tour of the halls to view educational posters and artifacts, watch a documentary on Montserrat’s volcano, and browse the gift shop.
The MVO is open year-round, and large groups are encouraged to book in advance to ensure a smooth and engaging experience.
