MVO Staff Participate in SeisComP Users & Training Meeting in Austin, Texas
MVO staff members Venus Bass (Seismic Technician) and Arvid Ramdeane (Scientific Software Engineer) recently travelled to Austin, Texas to participate in the first North America SeisComP Users and Training Meeting, held from November 4–7, 2025. They attended alongside UWI-SRC representatives Nisha Nath (Chief Research Technician) and Hannah Ramsingh-Reddock (Research Technician).
Hosted by TexNet in partnership with Gempa, the event brought together seismic monitoring teams for technical sessions, practical exercises, and discussions centred on the use of SeisComP, the software used at the MVO for real-time earthquake detection and data management.
The training supports the continued strengthening of Montserrat’s seismic monitoring capabilities and ensures that staff remain up to date with the latest tools and best practices in the field.
