
Registration Now Open for SHV30 Conference — Second Circular Available
The Montserrat Volcano Observatory is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the upcoming international conference, SHV30: Soufrière Hills Volcano 30 Years on Conference, to be held in Montserrat from July 14–18, 2025.
The conference marks 30 years since the eruption of the Soufrière Hills Volcano, bringing together regional and international scientists and risk practitioners, representatives of the public sector, and of both local and diaspora communities to reflect on the eruption’s long-term impacts and to share lessons from similar experiences around the world.
This milestone event is themed: “Turning Magma into Momentum: Synergies between Science, Risk Management, and Communities for a Sustainable Life with Active Volcanoes.”
Attendees can look forward to:

- Field trips exploring Montserrat’s volcanic landscape
