Montserrat Volcano Observatory Featured in New PBS Documentary

The Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) is proud to be featured in a newly released documentary by PBS, which takes a closer look at the science and dedication behind our ongoing efforts to monitor the Soufrière Hills Volcano.

The short film showcases the critical work of the MVO team in monitoring volcanic activity and analyzing data to ensure the safety of Montserrat’s residents.

This feature provides an opportunity for a global audience to better understand the value of volcanic science and the importance of sustained monitoring in communities living with active geological hazards.

We’re honored to share our story and grateful to PBS for helping to highlight the essential role of volcano observatories in hazard management and community resilience.
