St Augustine Primary School showcase Mountain Aglow for science fair

St Augustine Catholic Primary School’s annual science fair provided an opportunity for the Grade 5 students to showcase all that they have learned about volcanoes and the cultural and creative impact of the Soufrière Hills volcanic eruption on Montserrat.

Montserrat primary school students, grade 5 and 6,  have been part of the Mountain Aglow Junior project since the start of 2021 until present date. As part of the project they have participated in weekly workshops which detailed everything from the science of volcanoes, cultural and political impact and creative storytelling.

St Augustine Primary students, alongside their teacher, then used this knowledge as part of their science fair project, detailing to the fair’s visitors exactly what they have learned.

The Mountain Aglow Junior project will culminate in the student’s pictures, poems, songs and interviews being placed on panels, which will then be exhibited at various locations on Montserrat. All of the content produced from the students will also be available on the Mountain Aglow website: www.mountainaglow.com
