MVO hold hazard map workshop for stakeholders
MVO hazard and risk specialist Dr Victoria Miller hosted a volcanic hazard map workshop with key stakeholders in Montserrat on June 9th.
We discussed the current volcanic hazard assessment program, what people expect and want to see included on different versions of hazard maps and how to convey information that is accessible and easy for everybody to understand.
The workshop was a key opportunity to engage with end-users of the volcanic hazard map in order to receive feedback that can be used to tailor updates to the volcanic hazard map for Soufriere Hills volcano. It was a really interesting session with lots of great views and opinions voiced. Thanks to everyone who took the time in completing the survey ahead of the event.
