MVO Careers Day Talk at Montserrat Secondary School

On Friday May 7th, Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) took part in a careers talk with the third form students at Montserrat Secondary School.

Alongside Dr. Gregory Julius, Director of Education (MoE), Ms Deonne Semple, Director, Policy & Planning (MFEM) and Mr Kurt DeFreitas Healthcare Development Manager (MoHSS), our education and outreach coordinator Kathleen Retourné spoke about all the different careers available at a volcano observatory and the skills and qualifications needed.

We finished-up by highlighting all the positives about a career with MVO including working alongside the latest technology, learning new things and of course, the number one benefit – the satisfaction of keeping people safe.

We hope to have inspired the next generation of Montserratian volcanologists, engineers, technical workers or observatory support staff!
