MVO Staff Receive Training on iNaturalist App to Support Environmental Monitoring

Staff of the Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) recently received hands-on training from Mr. Chris Sealy of the Montserrat National Trust (MNT) on how to use the iNaturalist app to record and identify local plant and animal species.

The Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) continuously monitors the Soufrière Hills Volcano to provide timely advice to the authorities in order to reduce the impact of volcanic activity.

Activity at the Soufrière Hills Volcano remains low. The Hazard Level is 1. There is no public access to Zone V, including Plymouth. Maritime Zones E and W are daytime transit only between sunrise and sunset.
