Lava extrusion has continued during the reporting period. Dome growth has mainly occurred around the summit region generating rockfalls and pyroclastic flows in the sector extending from the south to the northwest. Deposits from a series of pyroclastic flows occurring on 04 May extended as far as the Tar River delta. Northerly-directed winds during the reporting period resulted in light ashfall in areas north of the Belham valley.

During the reporting period seismicity was dominated by rockfall activity, as has been the case throughout this phase of dome growth. The seismic network recorded 279 rockfall signals, 49 long period-rockfall signals and 109 long period earthquakes.

Measurements of the sulphur dioxide flux ranged from 180 tonnes per day (t/d) on 02 May to a peak of 420 t/d on 27 April. The average for the period was 310 t/d.
