Recent, partial views of the lava dome have shown that there have been no major changes since the March 22/23 event.  Fumaroles have been observed on the margin of the March 23 crater (pictured above) which is in the February 2010 collapse scar.  However, observations from the thermal camera show no high temperature anomalies associated with this crater and its fumaroles.  A small pond has also formed on the inside of the 23 March crater.

The degassing from these fumaroles is a possible source of the “roaring” sound that has been reported several times over the past month.
