Observation Flight 20 November 2012
There were good viewing conditions during our observation flight on 20 November 2012. We were able to get very clear views of the southern flank of the dome but not, alas, of the summit. Photos can be seen on our Flickr pages.

Ashfall

Ash fall is a major issue for cattle since it destroys vegetation and animals breathe it continuously while grazing. Aircrafts, ships and car engines can also malfunction when exposed to ash. If inhaled, the smallest pieces of ash may cause respiratory problems, a hazard which persists long after the eruption itself has ended.
