The Scientific Advisory Committee has met this week in Montserrat for the 13^th time, to discuss the behavior of the Soufriere Hills volcano and the risk that it poses.

The SAC is a group of expert volcanologists, that have long term associations with the Soufriere Hills volcano, who form an independent, British Government appointed committee. MVO presents it's scientific report to the SAC and discusses issues regarding the volcano. The SAC presents a full report, including a comprehensive quantitative risk assessment to the Governor of Montserrat and members of the British Government. The SAC also held a public meeting via ZJB radio and local television, to field any questions from people that live in Montserrat.

Immediately after the SAC has finished, a preliminary statement is prepared.
