Now that you have erupted

Our lives are very much disrupted

Still can’t believe it –

A volcano in my backyard

You huff and puff so much

Scaring my neighbours with your ashy stuff

You are such a mighty force

You stop traffic and close airports.

We are terrified at the magnitude of your power

When you set off the sirens in your dangerous hour.

Your constant ashing gives us richer vegetation

Montserrat – now a famous tourist destination

Plenty good in you, though, Mr. Volcano

For every mud flow, you make our land grow
