Many transient and semi-permanent fumaroles exist on the lava dome. It is believed that atmospheric conditions affect the visible intensity of fumaroles at least as significantly as changing volumetric flux. We seek an intern with strong computing abilities to analyse MVO video and meteorological data in order to explore, and perhaps quantify, this relationship. Doing so may help us to better understand fumarole degassing and changing trends in fumarolic activity.
